Sous Chef Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our exceptional kitchen team at Mount Juliet Estate, a Marriott Autograph Collection Property and certified Great Place to Work.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar position within a professional, busy 5-star kitchen environment and possess strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Estimating costs and ensuring all purchases come within budget.
* Taking care of the kitchen's ordering and invoicing procedures.
* Liaising with suppliers for food orders and staying up-to-date with the latest food trends.
* Managing and directing the kitchen on a day-to-day basis, demonstrating excellent leadership and guidance.
* Creating new concepts and menu planning in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
* Maintaining high health and safety standards within the kitchen.
* Fostering guest relations where appropriate.
* Holding thorough knowledge and understanding of all performance and delivery standards within the department.
