The Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) is a Registered Charity with a strong and growing membership promoting sustainable building practice through advocacy, education, innovation and through our certification and rating schemes.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive experienced professional with accounting, financial and general business skills to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management Accounts: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries in Sage.
* Accounts Receivable: Generate revenue invoices and record receipts for all IGBC membership, education, events and certification activities.
* Accounts Payable: Process and pay invoices for all operating and project-related expenses.
* Financial Planning and Tax: Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow, comparing against budget and/or forecast.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare all relevant reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, and a summary of management accounts for inclusion in the bi-monthly Board report.
* Grant-aided Projects: Review personnel time records on project related activities, update monthly project tracking records with personnel costs and third party expenses, calculate monthly income recognition journals for each project, and liaise with project staff on budgets and expenditures.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA).
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience in accounts, administration, or a financial support role is required.
* Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
* A clear understanding of accrual accounting is essential.
Benefits:
* Salary €40,000 - €45,000 dependent on experiences and skills.
* Minimum 23 days leave rising to 28 days after five years.
