Senior Mechanical Estimator
Responsible for preparing accurate mechanical cost estimates and ensuring timely submission of tenders.
This involves conducting in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
You will also manage quantity take-offs, populate pricing documents, obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors, and present completed estimates to the Pre-Construction Director and Board of Directors.
Tender document control, including drawing analysis and specifications, is also a key responsibility.
You will mentor and train junior members of the mechanical estimation team, coordinate with Electrical Estimators, and participate in developing procedures for quality control in estimating documents.
Able to manage complex tenders autonomously from start to finish, identify risks, and highlight potential tender opportunities to the estimating manager.
Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients, subcontractors, and internal team members.
Requirements
5+ years of mechanical cost estimating experience in a contracting environment, delivering tenders from enquiry to award stage.
Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office, and a strong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical building services systems.
Good knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materials, ability to interpret drawings and specifications, perform accurate take-offs, and prepare detailed BOQs.
Excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical, and organisational skills required.
