Job Description:
Our client, a large supplier in the agriculture sector, is seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to support their operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operational activities.
* Ensure smooth operations and compliance with best practices.
* Support the management of operational staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
* Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure smooth product flow.
People Management:
* Develop onsite personnel through training and support.
* Support the development of training practices to ensure team members are aware of current best practices.
* Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
Cost Control:
* Help manage the cost base and identify opportunities for savings.
* Assist with maintaining port operational budgets within agreed limits.
Quality:
* Manage company standards, such as ISO9001, and ensure audit compliance.
Team Management:
* Motivate a diverse team and plan high levels of communication with stakeholders.
Measurement:
* Agree annual KPIs to ensure achievement of operational objectives.
* Analyse data to identify issues and develop corrective action plans.
Organisation:
* Maintain administration and reporting systems.
* Assist with implementing corporate policy and strategy.
