Ayrton Group are seeking a HSE Officer to join our client, a construction contractor, on a power station project in the Grangecastle area. This project involves the management of thermal insulation on equipment and piping.
This is a 6-month contract role, with the potential for extension, commencing in mid-February.
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm. The role also requires Saturday work, with hours of 7:30am – 12:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety regulations and client policy requirements.
* Conduct comprehensive risk assessment and hazard analyses to identify potential Health and Safety risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
* Conduct regular site audits and inspection to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Conduct detailed investigations and root cause analyses of incidents and near-misses to prevent recurrence and improve safety practices.
* Manage all necessary documentation relating to site Health and Safety.
* Review contractor documentation/permits to ensure compliance with EHS requirements and standards.
* Ensure adherence to company and client Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
* Attend and assist with regular Health and Safety meetings.
* Deal with all other Health and Safety matters arising.
Key Requirements:
* Recognised qualification in Health and Safety required.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position required.
* Comprehensive understanding of Irish Health and Safety legislation required.
* Experience working in the construction sector as a Safety professional required.
* Previous experience in power plant environments would be advantageous.
* Proficiency in EHS management software and tools for tracking incidents, compliance, and training.
* Strong report writing and comprehension skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
