Decontamination Team Leader (2 year fixed term contract 19 hours per week) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Decontamination Team Leader to join the Bon Secours Health System Hospital Galway.

Job Purpose: To supervise, assist and oversee the decontamination of Reusable Invasive Medical Devices for use in all clinical and other areas designated by the hospital.
As a Decontamination Team Leader you will have responsibility for the day to day running of the CSSD/EDU departments ensuring at all times that the department's policies, procedures are strictly adhered to ensure the quality and safety of patients, staff, and hospital equipment.
Ideal Candidate: Minimum of 2 years' experience in either Cleanroom, CSSD or Endoscopy Computer literacy with experience of word, excel, and PowerPoint.
Possess good communication skills (both verbal and written) with a confident and approachable manner when dealing with colleagues and various service users.
The successful candidate should have comprehensive knowledge of decontamination processes, operational and quality standards.
The applicant must be able to plan their own workload and work with minimal supervision.
The applicant must be able to work over a 6-day roster, Mon- Sat and be able to cover other Decontamination lead and team leaders in their absence.
Essential Qualifications: Third level qualification in either Cleanroom, CSSD, Endoscopy or other associated medical device courses.
Competency.
Communication.
The applicant must show ability to communicate effectively within the team, theatres, facilities, customers, product specialists and management.
Communication is crucial to successfully lead people and the application should be able to demonstrate how they have done this in the past.
The applicant must be confident and competent in both written and verbal communication.
The ability to communicate and log faults/repairs on emaint, IT helpdesk, MediShout, phone and email.
Problem Solving.
Problem-solving is another critical component of the role.
The applicant must show how they can work on their own initiative to solve day to day issues that may arise.
The ability to anticipate potential future problems and ensure teams can respond to these challenges.
Quality Management system.
The applicant must have a good knowledge and understanding of the Quality Management System ISO 13485.
The ability to undertake and participate in audits and compile data for KPI's, meetings and management review meetings.
Decisive Decision-making is a key part of the team leader's role.
Some situations might be urgent and require a quick decision.
In these situations, the team leaders might not have the opportunity to fully weigh a situation and explore different options before deciding.
It's important that they're able to be decisive without being impulsive.
