About Wicklow Dementia Support:
Wicklow Dementia Support (WDS) is a community-based charity dedicated to supporting individuals living with dementia and their families. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for people affected by dementia in County Wicklow by providing information, support services, and raising awareness in the local community.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our Board of Directors as a voluntary board member responsible for Social Media Engagement. In this role, you will help WDS raise awareness about dementia and our support services, promote fundraising events, and engage with the community through our social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase WDS’s online presence.
* Create and curate engaging content to share across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
* Monitor, respond, and engage with online communities to build relationships and encourage support for WDS initiatives.
* Work closely with other board members and WDS associates to align social media efforts with organisational goals.
* Promote WDS fundraising activities, volunteer opportunities, and events to the wider community.
* Keep up to date with social media trends and tools to ensure WDS is utilising the best strategies for growth.
What We Are Looking For:
* Experience with social media management (either professionally or personally).
* Strong communication skills with a creative mindset.
* Passionate about supporting individuals living with dementia and making a positive impact in the community.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Commitment to attending 10 online board meetings and 2 in-person strategy session per year
* Candidate to be located within 60 mins of Co. Wicklow, Ireland
