Locum Support Assistant (Female*) – Marylebone Project

Salary: £13.15 per hour
Hours: This is a zero hours contract. Flexibility with regard to working hours will be required. The post holder may be asked to provide cover for unexpected vacant shifts or short-term planned absences. The Church Army has no obligation to offer work, and the post holder has no obligation to accept work offered.

As a Locum Support Assistant, you will work at the Marylebone Project on an as-and-when basis, ensuring that service users receive the highest possible standard of support. You will provide cover across the Project in various roles including Reception, Night work, Support Services, Resettlement, and the Sanctuary. Responsibilities may include one-to-one support, conducting room checks, providing assistance to service users, and welcoming visitors to the Project.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist in the provision of a high-quality, needs-led support service.
* Assist in providing a safe and secure accommodation and drop-in services for single homeless women.
* Maintain good communication between service users, staff, and external partners.
* Work within the parameters of Church Army and Marylebone Project’s policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will have:
* Knowledge of the challenges faced by homeless people, particularly homeless women.
* Experience in a customer-facing role, providing outstanding service.
* An eye for detail and experience in concise report writing.
* The ability to work without judgement or prejudice with people from diverse backgrounds.
* Experience in effective de-escalation techniques and working with individuals presenting challenging behaviours.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* A passion for working with vulnerable women and providing outstanding service.
* A willingness to work unsociable hours.
* A personal ethos in line with the aims and objectives of Church Army.
DBS: This post is subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures. Safeguarding training will be required.
Occupational Requirement & Physical Requirement:*Positions are exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. The role involves walking between two sites, and the post holder must be able to access all areas of the project quickly in case of an emergency.
