Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Manager to join our client’s growing team. This is a new business-focused role with responsibility for identifying, developing, and managing key accounts within the independent coffee shop, hotel, and restaurant sectors. The successful candidate will play a key part in driving growth by acquiring new clients and nurturing long-term relationships with them.
Key Responsibilities:
1. New Business Acquisition: Identify and target potential clients within the independent coffee shop, hotel, and restaurant sectors across Dublin and surrounding counties. Generate leads and develop opportunities to grow the client base. Lead the sales process from initial contact to closure. Establish and develop strong relationships with key decision-makers at client businesses. Once accounts are secured, manage and grow those relationships to ensure long-term success and client retention.
2. Product Knowledge: Leverage a deep understanding of the company's range of coffee products, equipment, and solutions to effectively demonstrate their value to potential clients and address their unique business needs.
3. Market Research: Continuously research and understand market trends, competitors, and the evolving needs of the coffee industry to stay ahead of the curve and identify growth opportunities. Ensure ongoing customer satisfaction by providing top-tier service and ongoing support to clients post-sale.
4. Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, operations, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to new clients.
Key Requirements:
1. Experience: A proven track record of success in sales, specifically in the coffee industry or a related field, with experience selling coffee products or equipment to coffee shops, hotels, or restaurants.
2. Business Development: Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities, build a pipeline of prospects, and close sales.
3. Relationship Management: Strong skills in managing relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring long-term satisfaction.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence key stakeholders.
5. Self-Motivated and Target-Oriented: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works independently, and is highly motivated to achieve and exceed targets.
6. Knowledge of Coffee: In-depth knowledge of coffee products, the coffee supply chain, and the unique needs of businesses in the coffee sector.
7. Driving License: A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required, as the role involves travel to client sites.
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience in the hospitality or foodservice industry is a plus.
2. Familiarity with coffee equipment (e.g., espresso machines, grinders, brewers) and understanding of coffee roasting processes.
