Key Role Supporting Dublin Office
This is a key role supporting the Dublin office in the provision of industry and client-specific technical underwriting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategically use internal data and market analytics to identify and inform underwriting decision making and exploit revenue opportunities within the existing portfolio.
* Proactively undertake account reviews to identify non-profitable accounts and ensure appropriate action is taken in line with business objectives.
* Effectively contribute to corporate revenue streams through strategic planning of key account activities ensuring alignment with HSB's wider business ambitions.
* Identify and undertake new and innovative approaches to maximize new and existing business growth in line with wider business ambitions.
* Acknowledge a collaborative mindset/approach with Dublin's Regional Manager and Regional Underwriting Manager to generate new lead generation.
* Actively use current binding authorities, ensuring continuous professional development to achieve the needs of the team, the business, and its customers.
* Populate and update HSB's CRM with all activity and business interactions.
* Exemplary customer service through the delivery of technical excellence and applying HSB's customer-first approach in all stakeholder management activities.
* Engage and build relationships with external stakeholders to maximize opportunities and stay aware of market developments.
* Attend relevant industry and market-specific events, conferences, and networking activities to raise HSB's profile and market presence.
* Work collaboratively with all Segments to enable and support a culture of high performance within the Customer Trading Hub, leading by example in adhering to the HSB Professional Standards.
* Support and work collaboratively as directed with all Segment Leadership teams, Customer Trading Hub manager, and team leader to enable the achievement of customer needs.
* Attend broker meetings with BDMs as the technical underwriting lead, delivering presentations and training workshops as required.
* Maintain compliance with all internal and industry and regulatory requirements at all times.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Strong level of technical underwriting expertise gained in a relevant insurance environment.
* Critical analytical and reasoning skills.
* Strong trading capability, commercial awareness, and ability to build strong broker relationships.
* Understanding of commercial insurance governance and controls.
* Ability to apply high-level strategic planning concepts.
* Excellent project management skills.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
* ACII qualified or working towards.
* Degree level education or equivalent relevant industry experience.
