Our client seeks a "hands on" Production Support Engineer to support a number of its existing manufacturing cells. The successful applicant will have a strong technical background and minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in a medium/high volume mechanical/manufacturing environment.
The key aspects of the role are:
1. Support manufacturing processes and provide process improvements to existing products
2. Define and validate manufacturing processes for upgrade products or new products
3. Support mechanical/electrical assembly jigs, fixtures and purpose-built test equipment
4. Process analysis and Product Quality reporting
5. Work closely with other Engineers and Production Staff to drive quality standards and improvements
6. Collaborate with Product Designers to ensure the product is designed for assembly
Interested applicants should have:
1. Educated to at least degree level in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
2. Minimum 2 to 5 years' experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment
3. Experience in use of structured problem-solving techniques
4. Good “can do” attitude and ability to work well in a team
5. "Hands-on" ability
It is an advantage (although not essential) to have any of the following:
1. Experience with practical application of Six Sigma tools, including Statistical Process Control, Gauge Studies & Process Capability
2. Experience in use of Excel and related business intelligence tools for data analysis
3. Experience in practical application of Industry 4.0 real-time data analytics, including Power BI, SQL and VBA/Excel
4. Experience in practical application of Lean Projects
5. Experience in design, validation & implementation of assembly fixtures
6. Experience using and interpreting technical drawings including GD&T’s
