Solicitor Services Executive (Practice Support)
Job Summary
The Law Society is seeking a Solicitor Services Executive to provide vital support and guidance to practitioners. The successful candidate will work as a key member of the Solicitor Services team, developing and delivering practice supports to sole practitioner and small firms.
Main Duties & Key Responsibilities
Business Supports & Development
* Assist in the ongoing implementation of the Law Society's 2024-2028 strategy.
* Implementation and ongoing management of the Legal Services Excellence Standard business support initiative.
* Act as Secretary to the Legal Services Excellence Standard Accreditation Committee.
* Establish an expert panel of solicitors to provide advice on practice issues.
* Investigate grant supports available to small practices and develop appropriate guidance.
* Establish a process to regularly review and evaluate practice supports and services offered by the Law Society Solicitor Services.
* Complete a review of current business supports available for smaller practice owners, identify where there may be gaps and opportunities for improvement.
* Develop a suite of supports which will support sole practitioners and smaller firms throughout the lifecycle of small practice.
Information and Guidance
* Create relevant practice support content for the Law Society's eNewsletters, website and other publications as required under the guidance of the Solicitors Services Engagement and Communications strategy.
Engagement & Collaboration
* Create opportunities & initiatives that promote the value of small practices including attending regional cluster events and Bar Associations.
* Represent and support Solicitors Services team brand and engagement and relationships objectives.
* Active contribution to general Law Society activity such as events and communications.
Reporting
* Produce high quality reports and communication materials relating to the area of practice supports.
* Liaise with other Departments and Committees internally to progress initiatives.
* Work as part of the solicitor services team and provide support to the Head of Solicitor Services as and when required.
Knowledge & Skills
* At least five years of professional experience in a legal environment.
* Proven record of developing and project-managing professional services such as member supports and/or member communication initiatives.
* Good understanding of how small enterprises and legal practices in particular - are effectively managed and developed.
* Experience in creating content and writing and publishing articles.
* Excellent writing ability and attention to detail.
* A creative, innovative, and initiative-taking approach to working within a dynamic team.
* Effective communication and organisational ability with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
* Ability to influence stakeholders in the Law Society and in the wider legal community to work towards common goals.
* Project Management knowledge an advantage.
* An adaptable approach to work and an ability to work well as part of a collaborative team is essential – this role is team based.
* Approachable and demonstrating a collegial manner in all dealings.
* A proven record of commitment to professional and client service excellence.
