Position: USV Maintenance Engineer

About XOCEAN
XOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently; instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).
Overview
Maximising the utilisation of our fleet of USV’s by managing and implementing XOCEAN’s maintenance programmes and activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Management of In-field maintenance on USV’s including scheduling and signing off maintenance activities.
2. Act as a technical expert on USV functions; assisting with fault finding, diagnosing, resolving and reporting of issues.
3. Creation and development of Standard Operating Procedures and Electronic Work Instructions.
4. Training technicians in maintenance procedures and processes, alongside developing e-learning training packages.
On occasion this role may involve
1. Implementation and management of XOCEAN Safety Standards.
2. Assisting with Asset management and tracking; including Inventory & Site Kits.
3. Direct supervision of planned and unplanned maintenance (including weekends and out of hours support).
4. International travel for maintenance management.
Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar.
2. Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
4. Experience directly managing technical procedures and activities.
Desirable Experience
1. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with associated fault finding skills.
2. Marine Experience, either professional or hobby.
3. Management of team of Technicians.
