Project Manager Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Project Manager to join our client, a leading engineering company in the North East of Ireland.
The client has brought together expertise, teams, craftsmanship, and facilities to deliver challenging stainless-steel projects since 2001. Our solutions cater to cleanrooms & hygienic environments, architectural metalwork purposes, and production & manufacturing sites across Ireland, the UK, and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse client contract requirements, ensuring understanding within the Project team and liaise with Design and Sales departments to clarify technical specifications.
* Supervise Projects from contract award to handover as the main point of contact with clients and their representatives to progress projects in a timely manner while maintaining a positive client experience.
* Ensure all resources, equipment, labour, etc., are planned and available according to project programs, including subcontractors.
* Assess and understand the suitability of subcontractors' experience, knowledge, skillset, and ensure training certificates/tickets/insurance details are up-to-date and shared with relevant stakeholders.
* Utilize IT systems to track project plans using Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar planning software.
* Have a comprehensive understanding of and manage project finances, including terms of payments and invoicing schedules.
* Capture and approve variations to contracts in a timely manner, ensuring proper logging for payment.
* Track job numbers using TMS systems and ensure site teams submit hours and allocate correct job numbers to client project work.
* Work with the Planning Department to prepare detailed construction programmes, scheduling, and updates as necessary, raise and manage RFIs where needed.
* Compile and complete project-related documentation, including H+S plans (RAMS/SPAs/Work permits), TOPs, and other necessary documents.
* Manage site crews and communicate drawings and site hours effectively.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards and company policies, preparing weekly reports for project review meetings.
* Closing punch list items with site supervisors and project engineers, managing communication with clients, staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant teams to deliver quality projects on time and within budget.
* Liaise directly with 3rd party inspectors/engineers regarding onsite work.
Required Experience and Skills:
* Experience in managing projects in industrial or construction environments.
* At least 10 years of Project Management experience.
* 3rd-level qualification in a related field.
* Customer-focused ability to provide solutions to customer requirements and specifications.
* Competent in Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project/Smartsheet.
* Accurate interpretation of contract documents, programs, drawings, and technical specifications.
* Strong interpersonal skills for building working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Self-motivated with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Familiarity with Site Health and Safety standards and Building Regulations.
