The Role:
The Asset Management and Sustainability area is responsible for the development of asset policies, strategies and plans to determine the significant investment required into Ireland’s infrastructure. The area drives investment and the Sustainability and Innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored. The Asset Management function is responsible for strategic planning, prioritisation, and development of Uisce Éireann’s Capital Works pipeline. The function plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of activities across the three asset functions as well as providing environmental assessment and management expertise across Uisce Éireann
The Asset Intelligence team’s purpose is to connect their customers with quality asset data to drive insights and support decision making. The scope of the team's responsibility covers 4 main areas: Asset Data Insights and Stakeholder Management, Asset Data Management, Asset Data Governance and Special Projects
Reporting to the Asset Intelligence and Projects Senior Manager, The Asset Data Manager works to ensure that the Work & Asset Management Systems meets the requirements of Asset Intelligence in supporting Uisce Éireann and to ensure data integration between systems. The role holder drives the overall development of information strategy, security, governance structures and policies, data design, systems and reporting architecture and the maintenance of Asset Registers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the collection of asset data in collaboration with other functions, whilst delivering the processing and management of asset data within Uisce Éireann’s asset lifecycle management systems
Manage a team of Asset Data Analysts, Officers and Support staff.
Scope and establish data structures, registers and reporting as workflow capture pilots evolve and are extended across the sector
Lead the provision of asset data quality assurance in response to changes made or identified in the field
Ensure that the processing and provision of asset information aligns with the needs of the Asset Management and Operations and Maintenance teams, in addition to other Uisce Éireann stakeholders and functions
Perform as Business Lead for projects to develop the Asset Management Systems and functionality
Manage tasks such as
Creation of Work Order Classifications
Creation/Updating of Asset and Location Classifications
Creation/Updating of Asset Record Data and Spec Attribute Data
Creation/Updating of systems Users
Creation/Updating of Asset Domain Lists
Digitisation of asset data
Implement asset Hierarchy Changes
Establish cross system integration with SCADA / telemetry, Maximo, CC&B, GIS, Crewworks, Click, & Oracle Financials to meet the requirements of Uisce Éireann
Ensure that asset databases, including Maximo & GIS systems are maintained and are fit for purpose
Establish and improve in the base line confidence grading of the asset related data on an ongoing basis.
Control / change control of the input of asset hierarchies and solutions for asset data in Asset Management systems
Drive for high performance, setting the standard for continuous improvement in the delivery of Asset Intelligence
Manage and conduct the performance management and development processes for direct reports Establish with the Learning & Development Section a user training programme based on end user roles
Procure and Manage external resources for delivery of projects & initiatives, driving efficiencies in the delivery of works
Manage and build relationship within asset management, asset operations, Infrastructure delivery, Shared Services, IT and the wider business representatives
Manage all Capex & Opex budgets assigned in collaboration with the AM Finance Business Partner and Asset Investments
Drive and take responsibility for effective communication and consultation at senior level within Asset Intelligence and coordinating with other Business Functions
General Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
A minimum of 7 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
Demonstrated leadership ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff
Experience managing a team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and influencing an environment of open, honest communication while upholding high ethical standards
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
Experience of supporting policies, systems and governance controls and driving the implementation of progressive policies.
You will have a proven track record in leadership, change & transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environment
Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
Demonstrated experience in setting measurable safety and well-being goals for a team.
