Sales Executive (Nutritional Supplements/Life Sciences)
Our client is a world-class provider of human clinical studies. For over a decade they have delivered clinical results to their many clients around the world, on time and on budget. Their state-of-the-art clinic sites both in Ireland and the USA ensure they can offer multicentre multinational studies of all design types, across a broad and diverse array of health areas and product portfolios. Their highly qualified and dedicated team manage all aspects of the clinical project, ensuring the data is of the very highest quality and integrity and in strict accordance with the protocol & ICH-GCP guidelines.
Some of their extensive clinical areas are healthy ageing, gastrointestinal function and disorder, physical activity and sports performance, nutritional investigations, stress and cognitive health and decline, cardiovascular health, metabolic syndrome, bone and joint health, immune function and microbiome dysbiosis of the gut, skin, vagina and oral cavity.
They are currently seeking a Sales Executive to join an established team. The successful person will be responsible for driving revenue growth by securing new clients and managing existing client relationships in the clinical trials sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales with proven success, preferably within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or in the Supplement Industry. They will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing and science to deliver customized solutions that meet client needs and will need excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to organise both themselves and others.
Role/Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy & Execution:
o Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets in the clinical trials market.
o Identify and engage potential clients, including nutraceutical, medical device and pharmaceutical companies to promote clinical trial services.
o Present customized proposals to senior stakeholders in life sciences organizations.
o Build a strong pipeline of qualified leads through targeted outreach, networking, and attending global industry conferences and trade shows.
o Develop long-term relationships with key decision makers, including clinical operations and R&D teams.
2. Account Management:
o Manage and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
o Regularly meet with clients to understand their evolving needs and recommend appropriate clinical trial services.
o Work closely with the operations team to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services.
3. Market Research & Analysis:
o Conduct market research to identify industry trends, emerging markets, and competitor activity.
o Provide feedback to internal teams on client needs, market trends, and service gaps to continuously improve offerings.
o Stay informed about regulatory developments and innovations in clinical trials.
4. Collaboration & Teamwork:
o Collaborate with internal teams including project management, marketing, and statistics to ensure smooth onboarding and execution of clinical trials.
o Provide input on marketing campaigns and materials to support sales efforts.
o Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and opportunities for upselling or expanding client relationships.
5. Reporting & Performance Tracking:
o Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including lead generation, pipeline status, and client interactions using CRM software.
o Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Business, or a related field (master’s degree is a plus).
* Professional certifications related to sales (e.g., CPSP) are desirable but not mandatory.
* Minimum of 2+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally within the clinical trials, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
* Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite.
* Understanding of the clinical trials process, regulatory landscape, and industry stakeholders would be desirable.
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to build trust and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
