The Opportunity
An Electrical Project Engineer maintains next-generation technologies in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) that enable the transmission of electricity over long distances and via submarine cables, providing billions with access to electricity.
This role involves working in the HVDC service organization and being primarily responsible for working at the East West Interconnector along with other Hitachi Energy HVDC customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland, particularly the Portan HVDC Converter Station.
Duties
* Supporting all aspects of Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) contracts for new and existing client sites.
* Working closely with the local Service Team and support partners to provide high-level engineering support to 1st & 2nd line support engineers.
* Providing 1st line support, maintenance, and repair services for the EWIC LTSA.
* Maintaining a strong relationship with valued customers.
* Ensuring the proper, skilled, and competent staff are in place through Development & Competency Management planning, including training and certification of support staff.
* Attending Factory System Tests (FST) when requested.
* Responsibility for Maintenance Management system and development of maintenance procedures according to local regulatory requirements.
* Facilitating availability reporting and Cigre reporting.
* Collaborating with the HSEQ advisor to develop, review, and improve existing and new procedures and policies.
Your Background
Required: An undergraduate Engineering degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in HV power systems, maintenance/fault finding experience with HV and LV equipment, experience delivering technical reports and fault analysis, and experience working with maintenance management systems and creating detailed work packs.
Ideal candidate has good communication skills, ability to work under pressure, initiative, and strong team player. Fluent written and spoken English. A full clean driving license with access to a car.

Location
This position will be based in Portan HVDC Converter Station, Co Meath, Red Road, Batterstown, Co Meath. Travel to other link sites may be required with this role.
