GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As the Operations Director, you will be a key member of the site Leadership Team. You will be specifically responsible for managing and providing leadership to the full Value Stream Operations in the Cork Site to deliver the customer and business needs in a compliant manner that enhances the direct relationship culture. You will engage with the relevant support departments and build strong relationships with them. You will be responsible for the operational vision and strategy that contributes to the transformation journey to double our capacity over the next 5 years.

ORGANISATION POSITIONING:

You manage: Compliance, Full Value Stream operations and Warehouse operations.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Authority & Influence
You will play a full and active role in the overall Site Leadership Team to achieve operational delivery goals within the vertical supply chain, providing cross-functional leadership in support of all the functions and departments on site, and setting and implementing an overall site strategy to develop the “factory of the future” capable of enabling the corporate strategy.
Culture
With the Site Leadership team, you play a key role in creating and managing an empowered performance culture respectful of the needs of all stakeholders and differentiating Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business and the Cork site with respect to all competitors. Drive a value stream mindset and culture of continuous improvement based on lean and Six Sigma principles.
Performance
You will Lead the full operations from Prep, Fill, Work in Progress & Label Store to Packaging and Warehouse to ensure patient supply objectives are consistently achieved. Update site daily using the 3 Tier approach covering SQDC principles.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Business and/or Engineering, Science Level 8 (Or equivalent) Degree Qualification
* Min 10 years operational and leadership experience with proven track record of delivering transformational results across safety, quality, reliability, and cost in a regulated manufacturing environment.
* Self-starter with good motivational, decision making and planning skills.
* Expert knowledge of Quality, safety regulations, manufacturing, and process automation.
* Experience in developing strong working relationships across teams and functions.
* Expert understanding of manufacturing procedures while looking beyond existing methodologies to define and resolve complex problems.
* Expert understanding of related aspects of manufacturing processes and/or systems.
* Expert knowledge of financial acumen as it relates to manufacturing.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Your primary responsibilities are to your colleagues, customers and the Patient. Safety and Quality are non-negotiable in the execution of your duties.
* You are responsible for compliance to the requirements of cGMP, and to our site Quality programmes.
* Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
Team leadership and capability development
* You will always be a Role model and display GE Values and Leadership standards through your interactions with all colleagues and other stakeholders.
* You will ensure continuous performance feedback is maintained for all Direct Reports.
* Develop an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team by building strong collaborative working relationships across the business.
* Manage the team on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
* You will ensure that all aspects of GEHC Cork Human Resource Management policies are complied with.
Delivery & Cost
* Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensuring the required best working practices are always maintained.
* You will identify methods for improving productivity and reducing overall costs via Lean manufacturing and robust problem-solving teams. Deliver operations changes required to meet customer demand while creating the operating platform to enable the company to achieve its plans to double the sites capacity over the next 5 years.
* You will deliver Environmental, Health & Safety performance in accordance with the requirements of the company’s 5S, safety and environmental management programmes.
* You will liaise with Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Engineering departments on product and process development matters, New Product Introduction, trials, and audits.
* Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data analysis.
