We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role involves supporting the Management Accountant and FP&A Manager in various accounting and financial tasks. This position may become permanent for the right candidate and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their ACA/ACCA/CIMA exams and develop a career in accounting and finance.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Support the budgeting and forecasting process with data analysis and variance reporting.
Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and accounts payable/receivable transactions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Contribute to the preparation of financial models and analytical tools to support decision-making.
Work closely with the FP&A Manager on financial planning and analysis initiatives.
Support the Management Accountant in ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial close processes.
Assist in audits and liaise with auditors as required.
Skills Required:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or working towards a qualification).
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
Motivation to pursue ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
