Our client has a requirement for a Quality Engineer (Intermediate OR Senior level)
Intermediate: The successful candidate will have ownership, accountability, and responsibility for the management of all Quality related activity on the assigned Value stream or process in the Galway Plant. The focus will be on implementing a robust Quality preventative program across the area of responsibility, using the Standard Work. The role will include managing all Quality product and process related issues in the area of responsibility on a timely basis. This includes using Lean methodology to identify the root cause, associated corrective action, and the implementation and sustainability of the identified solution with control plans.
This role will be a key member of the Value stream team and will work closely with some or all of the following: the Supplier Quality team, the Production team, Training instructors, Pre Delivery Inspection, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer, and Customer facing team. This role will also be responsible for setting and achieving all the Value Stream Quality related Product and Process KPIs, ensuring that the product is meeting the design requirements and associated ICQ metrics.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. An Engineering Qualification, preferably at degree level, with 5 years engineering experience in Quality, Manufacturing (Mechanical or Electrical), or Design Engineering.
2. Strong Product and Process knowledge, in areas such as IRPDP, NPI.
3. Strong competence in data analysis, root cause analysis, and the timely implementation of corrective action.
Senior: The successful candidate will have responsibility for pro-actively managing and controlling the Product and Process Quality in the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring that our customers receive a consistent quality product at all times. This role will involve driving strategic initiatives, delivering a zero-defects goal, on Supplier Quality and in Operations Quality. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will have direct reports in areas such as Training, QMS, Supplier Quality, and will also act as a mentor/support to other areas of the Quality Department. This role will also be heavily focused on controlling in-Process and Customer KPIs, ensuring that the product meets the Customer requirements and associated Quality KPI metrics.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. A Degree in an Engineering/Science related discipline, with a minimum of 10 years in Quality within a manufacturing environment.
2. A Six Sigma Qualification and high competence in data analysis and LEAN manufacturing, with a Black Belt qualification as desirable.
3. Qualified and experienced Lead Auditor.
4. Previous experience in a Supplier Quality role.
