Opportunity for a Resident Engineer with Energy Management expertise working in a Client based role based in the Dublin area. You will be involved in developing, planning, procuring and, safely and efficiently, managing various Energy Efficient projects for Irish Water.
To be considered, you should have a background in Energy Efficiency, Electrical and Mechanical project design and management on water/wastewater projects to include treatment aeration system improvements, pump replacements, heating and lighting system upgrades, and reconfiguration of electricity supplies (LV to MV).
As Resident Engineer you will:
1. Carry out preliminary energy site surveys and investigations as part of the pre-planning process towards deciding on the feasibility of energy projects.
2. Deliver Energy Audits with retro-commissioning projects in order to identify, evaluate, and develop energy efficient solutions.
3. Manage, programme and control energy audit projects and surveys performed by authorised contractors/consultants.
4. Prepare the financial and performance justifications (payback analysis, ROI, IRR) for projects.
5. Review Measurement & Verification (M&V) results and reports and maintain accurate records, whilst collecting energy monitoring data.
6. Provide oversight and input into the conceptual design of energy engineering projects, investigating and resolving problems within scope of work or cost issues of facility upgrades and replacement projects.
7. Carry out design and specification of pumping plant and associated mechanical, electrical and control equipment for various IW applications together with budget costs, when required.
Desired Experience:
8. At least 7-10 years’ postgraduate experience, with 4 years’ industry experience in delivering works on water/wastewater engineering projects.
9. A Degree in a related discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
10. Knowledge of ISO 50001 and ISO 50002 Energy Management Systems and Energy Systems, respectively.
11. Knowledge of civil engineering works, Mechanical & Electrical Works, design build operate projects and project management.
12. Capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping works records.
13. Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
