General Manager (Haz Waste) Contract Duration/Employment Type: Permanent Location: Fermoy, Co. Cork Hybrid/Onsite: Hybrid Working Pattern (Time/Hours): Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm Overview of the role: This role will report directly to the National Accounts position takes responsibility for the operational and commercial management of a portfolio of Veolia client accounts including responsibility for the development of the business unit and its P+L. General Day to Day of the role; Operational and Commercial Management Operational Maintain and Develop Customer Service levels Day to Day operational accountability QHSE Responsibility for client facing activities Contract Management Team Leadership Resource Management Working with site operations on forecasting and capacity planning Commercial P+L Ownership and management Strong focus on renewal of contracts and pricing of same Development of annual budgets and forecasts Lead bids and project quotation approvals Team Development - Organisational and New Accounts Operational and P+L Ownership / development of new accounts Team and individual objective setting and management Team Structure development Work in a collaborative manner with multiple teams to ensure key requirements are communicated, understood and implemented. Manage a team of Contract managers to assist in the management, development and optimisation of site teams, and provide support to contract managers to ensure all goals and relevant standards are achieved. Resource Management including working with L&D on team development Support succession planning to ensure pipeline of talent to grow the business, and promote behaviours to support creation of desired culture across teams Environment & Safety Performance Liaise with QHSE to ensure that all QHSE requirements for managed contracts are satisfied Assurance of service Support Contract Managers to manage a team of on site customer embedded labour Contribute to the development of the company's strategy,growth and business plan Develop a strategy for customer relationship management and communications Improve / maintain our net promoter score through KPIs and continuous improvement management Managing delegated proposals and or / projects Bid preparation and development Management of new contract implementations,technical, operational, commercial and contractual ownership Profit and Loss responsibility for account portfolio Working with Finance and Operations to manage working capital Management of Contract annual budgets Optimise the contract margin whilst minimising any risk or exposure to the business Marketing / promote the waste business working with our MarComms team Delivering effective and engaging presentations / comms to Customers / Suppliers and the Veolia business Anticipate and effectively manage risks and opportunities Working with other GM's in the business unit Work with the supplier management team to provide optimum waste management solutions to the client Working strategically with the National Accounts Manager to improve the efficiency and profitability of the business Development of Synergies and Operational Efficiencies across accounts Innovation in Waste Stream Management Support the BD Team and National Accounts Manager to prospect new opportunities within the Veolia Waste business unit To be successful in this role you will need: At least 5 years experience in Waste Management Strong leadership and organisational skills Experience in Customer Service Management Experience of leading an operational team Experience of driving growth, compliance and value Self Motivated Strong IT Skills Experience in the execution of Contract Implementation Strong Commercial Acumen Please note: ?If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.
