Technical Manager - EV Company
About the Role:
The Technical Manager will oversee the company's technical operations, guiding clients in transitioning from internal combustion engine vehicles to battery electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the technical team, fostering collaboration, implementing systems, and setting productivity standards for smooth operations.
* Provide technical guidance on EV charge point installation, including design, scope, and pricing documentation.
* Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and sales/technical support teams for seamless execution throughout the installation process.
* Oversee project bill of materials, ensuring accuracy and resource optimization.
* Act as liaison between technical teams, field operations, contractors, and equipment suppliers, ensuring technical feasibility and adherence to standards.
* Manage DNO application process, tracking and providing regular status updates.
* Work with operations team to guarantee compliance with relevant standards, risk assessments, and environmental policies.
* Be point of contact between technical team and field operations, ensuring smooth project transitions from survey to implementation.
* Contribute to commercial and strategic analysis of products and projects, assessing risks and opportunities.
* Lead technical training initiatives across the organisation.
Ideal Candidate:
* Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (BSc or higher), or relevant experience (NVQ Level 3-7).
* Solid electrical background, particularly hands-on experience in technical operations.
* Previous leadership or people management experience is essential.
* Strong project management skills, with ability to handle complex technical details.
* Experience with tendering and pricing process for technical projects.
* In-depth knowledge of DNO applications in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
