Title: Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

Our client is a large Mechanical contractor looking for a Senior Project Engineer that specializes in mechanical works to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects from pre-construction to commissioning and have experience working in industrial style projects (e.g) Pharma, Data Centre and F&B.
Main Responsibilities:
* Project Handover: Attend project handover meetings to receive a full project briefing and develop all relevant QEHS (Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety) documentation.
* Design Review and Value Engineering: Conduct thorough design reviews and value engineering exercises based on project documentation, recording all findings to ensure project efficiency.
* Programme of Works: Assist in creating a comprehensive Programme of Works for the project, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
* Procurement Coordination: Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to review and approve plant packages prior to ordering, ensuring all materials meet project specifications.
* Service Coordination: Support the coordination of mechanical services and builders’ work drawings in partnership with the Site Manager/Project Manager, ensuring seamless integration on-site.
* Quality Assurance: Oversee the management and delivery of Quality Assured documents, maintaining high standards across all project deliverables.
* Document Control: Manage all project documentation, including but not limited to drawings, RFI’s (Requests for Information), technical submissions, logs, schedules, and QA packs.
* Project Variations: Assist site management with project variations, ensuring all necessary adjustments are made efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.
* O&M Documentation: Support the development and delivery of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation, ensuring accurate handover at project completion.
* Commissioning Process: Assist in the development and management of the commissioning programme, including organising specialist subcontractor attendance, managing their work, and uploading certificates to relevant platforms.
* Adherence to Standards: Ensure all work adheres to internal QDSM templates and procedures, following ISO standards 9001, 14001, and 45001 for quality, environmental, and health & safety management.
Desired Criteria:
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
* Experience: Minimum of 6+ years’ experience with a strong mechanical engineering and design background.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD and BIM; strong IT and communication skills.
* Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Project Lifecycle Knowledge: Experience with project controls and the complete project lifecycle.
* Personal Attributes: Highly motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or within a team.
* Energy Systems Knowledge: Experience in energy systems and energy-saving analysis is advantageous.
* Client Interaction: Prior client-facing experience is advantageous.
