This is an exciting opportunity to join an established supplier in the hardware and builders merchant sector and offers the chance to work in the rapidly growing Construction sector. The Purchasing Administrator will help maintain optimal stock levels and liaise with both existing and potential suppliers. The Purchasing Administrator will be responsible for implementing the Company’s purchasing policies and procedures, and maintaining appropriate stock levels for the effective operation of our business. You will need to be a friendly, hardworking individual with an eye for detail. The individual will be capable of working independently while also collaborating with several other facets of the business.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain and improve upon the strong working relationships the business has with our suppliers.
2. Review purchases on an ongoing basis and solve any discrepancies as they arise.
3. Complete periodic reviews of stock levels and forecast stock requirements based on the ever-changing needs of the business.
4. Review, update and maintain the SAP system ensuring any system alerts are communicated and addressed in a timely manner.
5. Conduct ad hoc administrative and analytical tasks to assist the Purchasing Team.
6. Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact suppliers when there are discrepancies.
7. Arrange transportation with hauliers for delivery of our orders to our depot.
8. Liaise with other departments to ensure a smooth supply chain journey into and out of the Company.
Ideal Candidate
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Strong IT skills with proficiency in the MS Office package a must.
3. Ideally previous experience with SAP B1.
4. Ideally 1 year+ experience in a purchasing/supply chain related role.
5. A confident self-starter who is capable of working on their own initiative.
6. An ability to work and communicate as part of a team.
