Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a Social Care Assistant for our client in Kildare.
This is a full-time Permanent role.

Your New Job
The appointed person will join a day and residential support team. The team will engage intensively with individuals to determine their vision of a fulfilling life and identify necessary supports to achieve their goals. Collaboration with the social care team and significant individuals in the individual's life is essential. Flexibility is paramount as support timing and locations will align with individual plans. The appointed individual should actively engage as a team member and positively contribute to effective teamwork.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Respect each person who uses the services as an equal citizen.
2. Uphold and respect the human, legal, and constitutional rights of each person using the service.
3. Facilitate the development of choice and decision-making skills.
4. Foster self-advocacy skills and opportunities for involvement in advocacy.
5. Enable individuals to pursue and maintain their hobbies and interests.
6. Foster self-help and social skills to achieve greater autonomy.
7. Facilitate active participation and integration into the community.
8. Support the delivery of the organization's mission, vision, and values in daily activities.
9. Comply with and positively promote the competency framework through workplace behaviors.
10. Ensure a person-centered approach to service delivery.
11. Support individuals with:
1. Occupation and leisure activities.
2. Communication.
3. Behavior support plans.
4. Independent living skills.
5. Social integration and community facility use.
6. Personal care and development.
7. Assist with developing self-care skills, particularly in personal hygiene and health matters.
12. Support individuals with physical support and personal care needs.
13. Attend medical appointments as required.
14. Ensure a healthy and nutritious diet, considering individual choices.
15. Promote full participation in home life while maintaining acceptable standards of living.
16. Implement person-centered plans and address identified needs.
17. Attain competency in driving centre transport and participate in transport duties as needed, with flexibility.
18. Accept delegated responsibility for the physical and emotional well-being and personal hygiene of individuals supported.
19. Participate in and assist with organizing centre outings.
What are we looking for?
1. Minimum of a Level 7 on the QQI Framework - BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent relevant qualification in Health or Social Care.
2. Competencies and skills appropriate to working with persons with an intellectual disability are required.
3. Full Driving License is required.
