Payroll & Accounts Assistant
Join our Finance team to process weekly and salaried payroll for Mash Direct and Mash Farm.
About the Role
In this position, you will support wider Accounts and HR projects to help drive the company towards its key strategic goals.
Your Qualifications
* 2-5 years of experience in a payroll function with c250 employees
* Practical experience with Sage software
* Strong understanding of payroll regulations and company policies
Key Responsibilities
1. Payroll Processing: Administer and process end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll using Sage software, ensuring compliance with regulations.
2. Statutory Deductions: Calculate and process PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
3. Employee Records: Maintain accurate records, updating changes promptly.
4. Time and Attendance: Manage and reconcile records reporting payroll data daily.
5. Payments: Upload payments to the bank account each week once payroll is finalised.
6. Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK payroll legislation, tax laws, and regulations.
7. Reporting: Prepare and submit statutory reports and generate payroll reports for management KPI information.
8. Support: Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
9. Year-End Transactions: Complete payroll year-end transactions and assist in audits.
10. Collaboration: Work closely with HR and managers to ensure seamless payroll processes and accuracy.
11. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and review controls.
12. HMRC Forms: Process P60s, P45s, P11Ds, and Annual Returns.
