Our client is an established Engineering Consultancy based in the west of Ireland. They have an excellent reputation and work on a mix of projects from both the private and public sector. They are currently recruiting Project Engineers to join their team in their office located in Galway City.
Your new role
Within your new role, you will join a busy Civil & Infrastructure team who are seeing a pickup in projects across the country. You will have at least 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, preferably with experience in the water sector. Previous experience with treatment process design, water network design or network modelling – water or wastewater is highly desired. You should have the ability to achieve tight deadlines while working as part of a team. Responsibilities include:
1. Preparation of contract specifications and drawings.
2. Surveying and site inspections.
3. Preparation and review of preliminary designs and reports using a variety of computer packages.
4. Subsequent preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications.
5. Contributing to the project team on a day-to-day basis.
6. Direct communication and meetings with clients.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have 4 or more years of experience working with a consultancy. A third-level degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required. Experience in the design of buildings, water retaining structures, or bridges is desired. You should have the ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding the required designs. Responsibilities include:
1. Preparation of tender documents and assessments.
2. Knowledge of the Irish building regulations and the use of Eurocodes.
3. Preferred knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Civils 3D, and GIS.
