Your New Role at a Global Engineering Consultancy
This client is a large international Engineering Consultancy operating across 45 countries. They are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team due to business growth.
About Your New Role
The successful candidate will utilise their engineering expertise to design, develop and deliver projects for our clients while collaborating with the in-house team to enhance their skills and knowledge. Opportunities include working on various construction technologies, including panelised and modular systems.
1. Collaborate with project design teams on live projects.
2. Maintain adherence to company management systems.
3. Develop concept designs for diverse building types as directed by Senior Engineers.
4. Deliver assigned tasks under the guidance of lead managers.
5. Effectively manage time to ensure timely delivery within allocated deadlines.
6. Create structural engineering calculations for standard structures.
7. Independently review and validate own work and that of peers before submitting to senior engineers for approval.
8. Support and share technical knowledge with colleagues upon senior team approval.
9. Assist Senior Engineers in creating project timelines upon request.
10. Identify potential project variations and report to senior team members.
11. Attend site visits for inspections and issue inspection reports as required.
12. Prepare and distribute site inspection reports regarding BCAR compliance.
13. Aid senior engineers in reviewing and signing off inspections.
14. Develop a comprehensive understanding of relevant standards and typical details.
15. Support the team in managing ongoing projects as a Structural Engineer.
16. Pursue knowledge in Modular Construction (MMC) technologies and industry developments through continuous professional development.
17. Stay updated on applicable design standards, such as Eurocodes, and actively participate in reviewing relevant guidelines.
18. Apply First Principles engineering analysis and engage in continuous learning to expand technical knowledge.
19. Provide detailed hand calculations when necessary.
20. Contribute to research and development works within the company.
21. Expand knowledge of in-house design software, commercial tools, and quality assurance processes.
22. Perform other tasks aligned with this position.
Requirements for Success
* An honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
* A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Structural Engineering.
* Familiarity with MMC is beneficial but not mandatory.
* The ability to maintain positive relationships within a team environment.
* Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
