Job Opportunity: Grid Engineer
This is an exciting chance for an engineer to join our established company within the thriving Renewable Energy Sector.
We are expanding our workforce and seeking suitably qualified applicants to fill a position as a Grid Engineer responsible for grid connection delivery, electrical design, construction support, secure optimal grid connections, and designing/supporting electrical infrastructure implementation.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the energy design team on pre-feasibility studies, technical assistance during project inception, development, and construction phases.
* Develop and optimize grid connection solutions for wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
* Pursue alternative network access solutions based on grid studies, including technical, legal, and commercial evaluations across Ireland and the UK.
* Conduct substation and collection system electrical equipment sizing calculations, specifications, and drawings.
* Ensure grid code compliance design solutions and specialist studies.
* Coordinate design interfaces.
* Manage electrical contractors' designs and equipment scope.
* Attend equipment FATs and site installation/testing of electrical equipment.
* Support the Project manager in preparing subcontract specifications, project tendering, and acquisition processes.
* Interact with grid regulation authorities and grid operators.
* Prepare grid applications and manage the grid application process.
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related subject.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with fellow team members and external organizations.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and CAD.
* Flexibility in working hours and travel as required.
