Post Summary
The development of Irish-medium and Gaeltacht Education, and of Irish-language education is an overt policy priority in Ireland. The sector is engaging with challenges such as the changing sociolinguistic context of the Gaeltacht, changing demographics nationally, the supply and retention of teachers, and the provision of opportunities to develop educators' practice.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be a specialist in immersion and Gaeltacht education and/or applied linguistics and will advocate for the Irish language within Irish education and society. They will be fully conversant with the Council of Europe Framework of Reference for Languages and European and national policy regarding the Irish language.
The successful candidate will teach and supervise on the Irish language education programmes in the School, including the supervision of postgraduate student research. The post-holder will undertake research, knowledge generation, and dissemination in the field of Irish language education.

Requirements
* Specialist in immersion and Gaeltacht education and/or applied linguistics

What We Offer
Salary: €41,500 - €99,550 per annum
Hours of work: As prescribed under Public Service Agreements
Contract type: 2.5 Year, Specific Purpose Contract
