Accounts Assistant

About the Role
* Full-time, office-based position with hours of work from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
* Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will work as part of a team and focus on managing the purchase ledger.
* Assist with month-end processes, accruals and prepayments, preparation of VAT returns and assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
Duties
* Manage Accounts Payable process: Process supplier invoices, compile monthly supplier payment runs, reconcile supplier statements.
* Processing interdepartmental invoices and allocation to cost centres.
* Analysis and preparation of employee expenses.
* Preparation and posting of journals at month end, including accruals and prepayments.
* Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register.
* Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
* Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Stock reconciliations and assisting in stock control and reporting.
* Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Requirements
* AAT or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
* Previous experience in preparing management accounts, stock reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Excellent general IT skills, including advanced level experience of Microsoft Excel (regular use of pivot tables, V look-ups, advanced formulae).
