OverviewAs a Software Development Lead you will oversee a team of engineers working onshore and offshore to design, build and support features and functionality of applications with the aim of providing best-in-class experiences for our users. You will collaborate with product and engineering managers and teams to scope, architect and execute key features/enhancements across the full stack which will reshape how our users access products and services.ResponsibilitiesWork effectively within a multidisciplinary team of developers / engineers in a leadership role.Own one or more products; add new features, resolve bugs, and refactor / improve code base.Identify technical requirements in product meetings and guide the team through planning and feature development; translate product requirements into functional, maintainable, extensible software that is in-line with company objectives.Take ownership of new products / features from development through to deployment.Identify and write automated developer tests for new features and update existing tests as needed, and support the team to do the same.Collaborate with other Developers / Engineers to identify the best way to implement features.Work with colleagues to develop test plans / strategies.Assure the quality of all output of your team, including all code, executables and documentation.Drive constant improvement in the output of the team.QualificationsRelevant third level qualification.Essential skillsExcellent client-facing skills.People management skills - introducing and building ways in which people can learn from each other, encouraging mentoring and the transfer of knowledge by designing and delivering learning interventions.Teamwork and emotional intelligence.Good self-management – continuous performance is both an objective and a mind-set.Has an innovative approach – a bold thinker and doer, matching creativity with vigilance.High value on openness and transparency.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.ExperienceA successful history working with offshore teams of software development professionals.Several years of experience developing full stack applications using the .Net framework and the MS SQL Server environment.
