Health & Safety / Project Supervisor Design Process Engineer
We are a multidisciplinary consulting engineering practice employing 40 staff in our Kilkenny & Dublin offices. The practice has been involved in a significant number of residential, educational, and healthcare projects and takes particular pride in providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to the engineering design of modern facilities. We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety / PSDP Engineer to join our team.
An exciting opportunity for an Engineer to work in Health & Safety / Project Supervisor Design Process, working on a wide range of challenging projects with talented colleagues in a high-achieving professional environment. Day to day, you will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of projects, predominantly in education, healthcare & residential, ranging in size and complexity across Ireland.
To succeed, you must be a qualified Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience. Experience working on educational, healthcare, and housing projects would be an advantage. Details of role/duties for PSDP are attached.

Salary negotiable depending on experience, with the position available in our Dublin City Office, an office-based role with site attendances.
ROLE/DUTIES OF PSDP
* Co-ordinate health and safety considerations from project initiation to handover.
* Co-ordinate the work of designers in relation to safety.
* Organise co-operation between designers.
* Identify hazards arising from the design or from the technical, organisational, planning, or time-related aspects of the project.
* Where possible, eliminate the hazards or reduce the risk.
* Communicate necessary control measures, design assumptions, or remaining risks to the PSCS so they can be dealt with in the safety and health plan.
* Prepare written Health and Safety Plans for each relevant stage of the project.
* Ensure deadlines are met and prioritise work accordingly.
* Keep all emails and documents received up-to-date and file appropriately.
* Minimise potential safety risks which may arise during the operations on site.
* Liaise with the Design Team Members regarding health and safety issues.
* Attend Initial Kick Off Meetings and Design Team Meetings (On-site & On-line).
* Attend Site Visits during Stage 4 – Construction Phase – to check on health and safety issues.
* Prepare relevant reports and updates for the contractor.
* Liaise with the PSCS on site.
* Issue direction to designers, contractors, or others if necessary.
* Notify the client and the HSA of failures to comply with directions.
* Prepare a Safety File for the completed structure and ensure its handover to the client.
* Ensure each stage of the project is invoiced.
