The Executive Building Surveyor works as part of a team within the Building Control Division.
Reporting to a Senior Executive Building Surveyor, the Executive Building Surveyor shall primarily be involved in the inspection of active construction sites to determine compliance or otherwise with the requirements of the Building Regulations.
Whilst expert knowledge in all parts of the Building Regulations is required, a particular emphasis is placed on compliance with Part B (Fire Safety) of the Building Regulations.
The objective shall be to deliver a comprehensive, consistent and effective Building Control service in accordance with statutory obligations, agreed national frameworks and the priorities of the Building Control Authority of Dublin City Council.
The Executive Building Surveyor works as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Planning & Property Development Department.
The Executive Building Surveyor may also provide technical advice to the teams working in the areas of property development, event licensing and accessibility.
They must also uphold the requirements of the City Council's service objectives, policies and procedures.
