Join our team of Operations Technology Engineers as a Network Development Engineer and contribute to the design of next-generation networks that power Amazon's fulfillment centers and transportation sites worldwide.
We are looking for experienced professionals who can provide technical thought leadership in network design, leveraging automation via Bash/Shell scripting and Perl/Python programming. If you have expertise in making data-driven decisions and iterating on designs to deliver robust systems that scale elegantly, this role is for you.
Your responsibilities will include driving root cause resolution of network events impactful to the business and providing guidance to and mentoring network support teams to develop their skills and reinforce best practices.

The OTIE LAN Ops & Reliability Team supports multiple business units globally, from small delivery stations to advanced automated fulfillment centers. This diverse group enjoys variety in both short-term innovation and long-term strategic projects, offering a unique opportunity to grow your skills as an engineer and make a lasting impact on Amazon's fulfillment networks.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
* Experience in automation via Bash/Shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
* Design, implementation, and documentation skills for large-scale production networks
* Experience with major routing protocols, including OSPF
* Familiarity with routing and switching hardware from vendors like Juniper and Cisco
* Able to work on a diverse team with a range of coworkers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
* Development and delivery of large-scale designs in data center networks
* Experience with IPv6 design and implementation
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in wide area networking, wireless networking, and industrial Ethernet
* Expertise in information security for industrial control systems
