Job Title: Technical Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Manager to lead our Food Safety & Quality Management System.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety and quality, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary technical contact for the site.
* Liaise with the Site Production Manager to ensure all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality Management System are implemented across the site.
* Work directly with production supervisors/managers and prepare regular management reports and trend analysis.
* Ensure compliance with DAFM, BRC, MPQAS, and Customer Requirements.
* Continually review existing Food Safety and Quality Management Systems in line with legislative & customer requirements.
* Keep up to date with food legislation and emerging food safety risks.
* Communicate technical information effectively to meet the needs of the target audience.
* Develop new approaches or technologies to ensure continuous improvement.
* Manage certification and customer audits, completing corrective action reports to agreed timelines.
* Manage customer complaints, root-cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.
* Drive continuous improvement through Food Safety and Quality Objectives.
* Develop a Food Safety Culture across the site.
* Couch & nurture talent within the technical team.
* Liaise with the HR manager in all HR/IR issues.
Requirements:
* A degree in Food Science or equivalent experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Procedures.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food safety / quality.
* Proficient user of computers (Excel, Word, Power Point).
* Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team and on own initiative.
* Strong organisational skills giving attention to detail.
