We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Diner Manager to join our team and help take our service to the next level.
Position Overview:
The Diner Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure customer satisfaction, and lead a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to management. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has at least 3 years of experience in a similar managerial position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Management: Oversee daily diner operations, ensuring smooth service, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
* Staff Leadership: Train, schedule, and supervise diner staff, including servers, cooks, and porters. Lead by example to create a positive, team-oriented work environment.
* Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing any complaints, managing reservations, and maintaining a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
* Inventory Control: Manage inventory, order supplies, and track stock levels to ensure the diner runs efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Financial Oversight: Monitor budgets, manage expenses, and work towards revenue targets. Handle daily cash management, including deposits and reconciliation.
* Menu Coordination: Work with the kitchen staff to ensure menu items are prepared to a high standard, and introduce seasonal or special items as needed.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the diner meets all health, safety, and licensing regulations. Conduct regular inspections and implement necessary changes.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar managerial role in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
* Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to managing staff and operations.
* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
* Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the food industry.
Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and scheduling software.
* Background in menu planning and coordinating with kitchen staff.
* Experience in a diner or casual dining restaurant is desirable.
