Position Description With thousands of kilometres of fibre optics, almost 100 radio sites and over €100 million of hardware and software, the management of Networks Telecoms assets is a critical part of our business.
We are looking for someone with expertise in GIS technologies to deliver high quality GIS products and innovations, produce network drawings and maps across a range of telecommunications technologies and telecommunications infrastructure projects within Networks Telecoms and the development of the systems and processes needed to accurately capture information on assets throughout their lifecycle is also an important part ofthe role.

ESB's Networks Telecoms group has100 staff providing the critical operational telecom networks needed to deliver the broadband and data circuits required to control the distribution, transmission and generation systems.
Networks Telecoms deliver this by operating and managing the largest private Telecoms Network in Ireland and are among a leading group of European utilities building our own private mobile network for operations.
These initiatives are a critical part of our move to Smart Networks and the digitisation of ESB.
As a result, a number of exciting roles have become available for candidates looking to be part of the innovations and work needed to build the next generation IT & Telecom Networks for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following: Part of the Operations & Asset Management group responsible for the operation and management of ESBs private Telecom Network Manage the capture and recording of telecom assets throughout their lifecycle Preparation of drawings, maps and documentation for all telecommunications technologies and networks that exist within Networks Telecoms Create, modify, maintain and analyse geospatial databases.
Take ownership for the GIS tools used across Networks Telecoms and assist in the development ofan integrated solution for their use across the teams.
Develop the processes to embed the utilisation of the GIS tools in all planning, design and delivery activities.
Respond to requests for use of geographical information systems and production of maps and illustrations for special projects.
Experience and Qualifications Essential The candidate should have 2 years relevant experience in field of GIS and geospatial database applications or GIS Related Third level qualification Experience working in an electrical, telecoms or technology group working in a project or leadership role Excellent communication skills and influencing skills.
Desirable A relevant Asset Management qualification such as GIS would be desirable IT skills (including Microsoft Office applications) Experience in procurement of services including specifications, tenders, contracts and supplier management.
Location The position will be based in ESB Networks, Leopardstown, Sandyford, Dublin.
