ABOUT THE ROLE
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be based at my clients Dublin offices Monday to Friday. You will work on CAT A & B fit-out projects ranging in value from £1m – £10m. General day-to-day duties will include:
Cost Estimation: Assessing the costs involved in the project, including materials, labor, and other resources required for fit-out and refurbishment works.
Budgeting: Developing and managing budgets for the project, ensuring that costs are controlled and align with the client’s expectations.
Tendering: Preparing tender documents, inviting bids from contractors, and analyzing tender submissions to select the most suitable contractor for the project.
Contract Management: Drafting and managing contracts between the client and contractors, ensuring that terms and conditions are clear and adhered to throughout the project.
Procurement: Sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services needed for the project, negotiating prices and contracts with suppliers to obtain the best value for money.
Cost Control: Monitoring project costs, tracking expenses against budgets, and implementing cost-saving measures where possible to keep the project within budget.
Valuations: Carrying out regular valuations of work done by contractors, verifying invoices, and ensuring that payments are made accurately and on time.
Variations: Assessing and managing variations to the original scope of work, negotiating changes with contractors, and ensuring that any additional costs are justified and approved by the client.
Risk Management: Identifying potential risks to the project’s cost and schedule, developing mitigation strategies, and monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Final Account: Preparing the final account for the project, reconciling all costs and payments, and ensuring that the client is satisfied with the financial outcome.
Dispute Resolution: Resolving any disputes or claims related to cost or contractual issues, negotiating settlements between parties, and ensuring that all parties fulfill their obligations under the contract.
Reporting: Providing regular reports to the client and project team on cost performance, progress against budgets, and any issues or concerns that may affect the project’s financial outcome.
REQUIREMENTS
1. 3-5 years of Quantity Surveyor experience in fit-out and refurbishment.
2. Good organisational skills
