Textile Sustainability Coordinator

Overview of the Role
Dunnes Stores is currently looking for a Coordinator within the Textiles Sustainability team, where you will play a major part in our responsible sourcing. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make an impact of change within Dunnes Stores. Your contribution will positively impact the business, our customers, suppliers, and our colleagues to create lasting value to our business. This is an exciting role, and the suitable candidate is driven by change. The three main pillars of sustainability are People, Planet, and Product; however, Product and Planet will be the two main pillars you will work on, focusing on fabrics, packaging, and labeling.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Support buying teams with changes on sustainable targets.
2. Reduce, record, and report on sustainability performance and the targets set.
3. Identify new opportunities within the supply chain that can be changed.
4. Work closely with all textile buying teams and retail.
5. Ensure the correct chain of custody is followed for certification and call-outs.
6. Manage key suppliers with cost reduction and waste reduction.
7. Collaborate with Dunnes to ensure we continue to drive change and deliver opportunities along with achievements.
8. Provide support and technical advice to the buying teams, particularly in support strategies and ensuring implementation.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders/suppliers, building relationships, influencing, managing, and navigating the varied parts of the business.
Key Skills/Attributes & Experience
1. Knowledge of labeling/packaging and/or responsible sourcing is desired but not essential.
2. Studied or have experience working within a sustainability department/course.
3. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
4. Ability to analyze and understand research and identify relevant and valuable information.
5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Presentation skills required to deliver plans to varying groups of individuals.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
9. Ability to problem-solve and develop relationships across all functions of the business and all levels to find the right answers or get the help needed to deliver a project.
10. An ability to make an impact and influence.
11. A strategic thinker, and a confident and accomplished presenter and communicator.
