Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams lead process optimization for stamping, molding, or assembly-related topics. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, with extensive knowledge of associated manufacturing processes.
The teams enable TE business unit plants to meet TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), and advise on tool and machine duplications/corrections/improvements.
They design and develop manufacturing process automation platforms and apply them for new product developments and existing product optimizations.
Manufacturing Engineers support Product Development in selecting and optimizing tools for piece part production and suitable manufacturing concepts.
Job Description
The Manufacturing Technician reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor and provides engineering support to Manufacturing and develops process technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive process improvements with the Production Support team.
* Develop, troubleshoot, standardize, and improve production methods and procedures with Manufacturing Engineers.
* Support a chemical cleaning process, ensuring equipment availability and Health and Safety.
* Assist in conducting IQ/OQ/PQ processes and creating/maintaining area SOPs.
* Design, specify, manufacture, test, and document production equipment changes and improvements.
* Perform preventative maintenance procedures with assigned processes or areas.
* Assist in investigating and implementing new production methods and root cause analysis.
* Interface with various personnel and outside vendors.
* Implement technical improvements under the Continuous Improvement program.
Key Requirements
* A working knowledge of manufacturing processes is an advantage.
* Candidates should highlight innovative fixture design and manufacture examples implemented previously.
* Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
* Motivated to work independently.
* Knowledge of Medical Device development/manufacture is advantageous.
What your background should look like:
* A Level 6 Engineering or Chemistry degree, senior trade qualification, or equivalent, preferably with 2+ years' experience.
* Experience in Automation, CNC programming, and Laser processing is advantageous.
