The Job:
Would you like to join one of Ireland's most recognisable brands? We are currently working alongside a leading manufacturing company in Cavan to hire a Financial Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of management and accounting information. This position offers a new challenge and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing growth of our thriving business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare, produce, and finalize monthly management accounts as needed.
2. Creditor’s Ledger Management: Oversee the creditor’s ledger.
3. Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process.
4. Annual Accounts Preparation: Prepare annual accounts for auditing and assist company auditors in finalizing the annual financial statements.
5. Expertise Provision: Provide accounting and taxation expertise to the Financial Controller and the Senior Leadership Team.
6. Reconciliations: Prepare and manage bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations, along with all balance sheet items in monthly accounts.
7. Fixed Asset Registers: Maintain the Fixed Asset Registers.
8. Leasing Schedules: Maintain leasing schedules.
9. Reporting: Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Financial Controller, Senior Leadership Team, and relevant Government Agencies as required.
10. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, in line with experience and competence.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
1. Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar) with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization.
2. Attention to Detail: Ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
3. MS Office Skills: Excellent skills in MS Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
4. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
5. Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with non-finance team members.
6. Communication Skills: High level of written and verbal communication skills.
7. ERP Systems: Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
