**Job Title:** Head of Pharmacy
Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, a specialist rehabilitation hospital in South Dublin, is currently recruiting for a Clinical Pharmacy Executive Manager to join the team.
The purpose of this position is to lead and conduct day-to-day operations and overall management of the pharmacy service and staff while owning the governance and implementation of Medicine Management within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Focus: Develop the Health Service Executive's Pharmacy Service in line with legislation and national policies, ensuring good pharmaceutical practice, legal and ethical compliance, and adherence to Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) regulations.
2. Develop and advise on strategic programs and technologies required to deliver and maintain the pharmacy service.
3. Ensure patient and professional staff needs are met by the pharmaceutical service, respecting privacy, data protection, and confidentiality.
4. Lead pharmacy service planning and monitoring, considering skill mix, staff resources, and advances in technology.
5. Liaise with senior pharmacy colleagues, nursing, medical, and financial colleagues to manage drug expenditure and ensure the Finance Department is aware of potential high-cost medicines.
6. Promote a safety culture that aligns with organisational, national, and professional guidance.
7. Evaluate and manage risks associated with medicine use and participate in the hospital's medicines safety reporting process.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Registered pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or entitled to be registered.
2. Greater than 5 years post-qualification hospital experience and practice.
3. At least 2 relevant years of experience in managing pharmacy and staff.
4. Previous experience collaborating and advising multidisciplinary teams and Senior Leadership.
5. Possess managerial and administrative ability to satisfactorily discharge duties.
