Purpose of the Post The post of CNM 2 has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
The main responsibilities are: quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership and mentorship.
Clinical Skills Facilitator (GICU) The CSF in the General Intensive Care setting provides clinical support to nurses in becoming competent, skilled and professional members of the multidisciplinary team who provide exemplary care to our service users.
The CSF also supports nurses in developing clinical skills and competencies in order to fulfil their roles and responsibilities in an ever-changing health service.
A key element of this post is the clinical credibility of the post holder.
It is envisaged that the post holder is acknowledged as an excellent resource to professionals, and lead and support nursing development initiatives that aim to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
The post holder will:
Enhance the professional development and educational requirements for all nursing staff in GICU. Support education within GICU. Provide facilitation and coordination for Foundation Course & Post Graduate Diploma in Critical Care. Clinical Skills Facilitators Clinical Skills Facilitators play a vital role in contributing to the development and maintenance of high-quality patient care.
Key responsibilities include: Education & Training, Mentorship & Support, Quality Assurance, Clinical Leadership and Collaboration.
Clinical Skills Facilitators ensure that nurses and other healthcare professionals have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver safe and effective patient care.
They foster a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement and clinical excellence.
