Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hybrid setup
About the Role
This position encompasses all aspects of quantity surveying, encompassing both pre- and post-contract activities across various sectors. The ideal candidate will be equally adept at working independently or as part of a larger team, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities
* Pre-Contract:
o Preparing capital cost estimates
o Assisting in tendering procedures and contract arrangements
o Prepare pricing documents for tender packages
* Tendering Phase:
o Providing advice on tendering procedures
o Draft instructions to tenderers
o Development of tender evaluation criteria
o Drafting PQQ questionnaires
o Handling queries during tender period
o Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions
o Negotiation with tenderers
* Post-Contract:
o Reporting to the Commercial Manager and responsible for commercial aspects on the project
o Preparation of Interim Valuations
o Preparation of monthly Cost Reporting
o Client and Contractor meetings
o Negotiation and agreement of Variations
o Review and assessment of Contract Claims
o Agreement of Final Accounts
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Quantity Surveying degree
* Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with others
* Experience in the Construction Industry
* Must be commercially aware, flexible, and have ambition to progress within the organisation
* Drive and determination to manage strict budgets to ensure the commercial success of the project
* Ability to use time productively, maximise efficiency, and meet challenging work goals
