Your new employer is an international insurance company who are growing an operation in Dublin.
About Your New Job
As the Tax Manager, your main responsibilities will include overseeing tax compliance in Ireland, where the group’s EU insurer is based. You will also manage tax matters for an Irish insurer, and an Irish branch of a UK-based management company. Additionally, you will assist with global ad-hoc tax queries in collaboration with the Finance Systems & Tax Manager.
Key responsibilities will include
1. Oversee Irish Tax Compliance (Corporation Tax, VAT, IPT, Stamp Duty).
2. Review IPT calculations for all relevant countries for the Irish insurer.
3. Manage the annual Country by Country tax reporting for the group.
4. Assist with the implementation of digital end-to-end VAT reporting.
5. Play a crucial role in advancing the tax capabilities of the group’s systems, specifically by integrating withholding tax functionality and improving the current IPT functionality within the company’s policy management system.
What Skills & Experience will You Need
1. Tax qualification (CTA or equivalent)
2. Private practice trained (tax compliance or VAT team).
3. Detailed knowledge of tax legislation.
4. Analytical with good communication skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Strong Excel skills.
7. Insurance experience desirable, however not a prerequisite.
