The Role:
The IT UET & DBO Transition Technical Lead will support the deployment of Uisce Éireann IT infrastructure and services to support key transformational projects for the business and ensure their successful transition into the business as usual (BAU) IT Team. These projects include but are not limited to:
(i) Uisce Éireann Transformation (UÉT) Programme – Ensuring the appropriate IT supports are in place to facilitate the migration of Water Services staff into Uisce Éireann.
(ii) Uisce Éireann Property Strategy – Ensuring the required IT infrastructure is in place for new Offices and Operations Centres opening around the country
(iii) DBO Water Treatment Plants – Taking in charge Treatment Plants previously operated by a Design & Build Operator (DBO) and ensuring all IT infrastructure complies with Uisce Éireann standards.
Reporting to the IT UET & DBO Transition Manager, the role will be responsible for developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and for supporting UÉ IT in understanding of the challenges and needs facing the user cohort impacted by the transition. They will be required to work with their colleagues in Uisce Éireann IT & Business Services to understand opportunities to streamline the use of data & analytics to drive efficiencies and deliver outcomes aligned to functional objectives.
The IT UET & DBO Transition Technical Lead will also assist with implementing the UÉ IT Engagement & Communication Strategy. The vision for this strategy is to ensure that all stakeholders understand how IT supports Uisce Éireann to THRIVE and meet its business objectives in providing water services to the people of Ireland. They will play an active role in relaying regular communication that is both clear and relevant to all business stakeholders and internal UÉ IT staff via the appropriate channels to drive outcomes and benefits aligned to Uisce Éireann values.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to understand and resolve technical challenges and issues, and proactively encourage the uptake of UÉ technology, processes, and standards for all assigned projects.
Collaborate with, and drive, IT and project teams in executing strategic and tactical solutions to maximise user experience.
Manage with the implementation of the IT Engagement & Communication Strategy ensuring clear, regular communication with all business stakeholders & within the IT organisation to support the delivery of IT services for UE.
Building and maintaining critical internal and external relationships to support the transition of impacted users and their supporting IT infrastructure into UE IT Business as Usual operations.
Monitor any potential risks identified during the transition.
Consult with business and IT leaders, IT Business Partners, and representatives to ensure understanding of the business requirements and future strategic direction for all assigned projects.
Act as an ambassador of the IT Brand within UE and in dealing with key stakeholders.
Ensure alignment of UE Business objectives with IT strategy.
Prepare regular updates for the UET IT Transition Senior Manager on project process and milestones.
Ensure all business stakeholders have a clear understanding of IT priorities specific to their projects.
Keep abreast of emerging IT technologies with a view to aligning IT technology trends to the strategic requirements of Uisce Éireann and encourage the adoption of IT best practices and standards during the project lifespan.
Review and feedback on the utilisation and benefits of UÉ IT investments in the various projects.
Build strong relationships with the various IT teams within the IT function with the aim of optimising cooperation, maximising efficiencies, and supporting initiatives.
Support governance activities associated with ensuring overall IT compliance in the various projects.
Design and develop business KPI reporting dashboards via PowerBI.
Other duties as required from time to time.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business.
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience.
5 years’ relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years in a management or stakeholder engagement role in an environment similar in size and complexity to Uisce Éireann.
Experience in developing easy to understand and visually impactful PowerBI dashboards is required.
Experience in establishing and managing a large reporting capability, delivering complex reporting requirements to multiple stakeholders will be an advantage.
Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and facilitating the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments.
Ability to translate strategic priorities into operational reality, demonstrating strong decision-making skills.
Demonstrated adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
