The Role:
Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business, and across the Local Authority user base. The IT Business Partnering Team acts as a strategic IT advisor and interface between the IT area and the wider organisation in managing and shaping new demand and supporting a consistent IT service provision. The team support the provision of high-quality advice, information, analysis and interpretation to Uisce Éireann to underpin effective decision making, oversee meaningful IT performance management and act as a conduit to service provision for UÉ into the wider IT team.
Reporting to the Senior IT Business Partner, the IT Business Partner will be located close to the business to support the provision of high-quality advice, information, analysis and interpretation to UÉ to underpin effective decision making, meaningful IT performance management and act as a conduit to service provision for UÉ into the wider IT organisation. The IT Business Partner acts as a point of support for the Senior IT Business Partner & IT Business Partnering Manager in the management of the operational performance of IT between UÉ and the wider IT Team. The IT Business Partner will cultivate strong relationships, provide a deep understanding of the business and deliver the required IT expertise to drive business performance and deliver an IT agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the UÉ organisation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
An integral member of the IT Business Partnering team who will act as key interface between UÉ and the wider IT organisation regarding the provision of on-gong reliable IT services in addition to the delivery of new IT capabilities necessary to support UÉ’s overall goals and strategy
Assisting the Senior IT Business Partner to derive insights from reports (KPIs, financials, projects etc.), and where necessary recommending changes and improvements
Interfacing with and supporting the appropriate teams within the IT area to provide a full range of IT services in the areas of service management, operations, service design and delivery, architecture, security and IT performance
Communicating relevant UÉ specific IT programmes and projects, keeping business stakeholders appraised of progress, risks, etc. and assisting UÉ in the creation of the required project/ programme documentation as necessary e.g. Project Vision Statement document
Liaising with IT teams to shape appropriate solutions and initiatives to meet business requirements and assisting with the development and implementation of IT programmes, projects and processes
Supporting the initiation, implementation, delivery and embedding of IT change and project initiatives into the business
Actively capturing IT demand including projects, changes etc. from the Business and communicating key demand and changes to the IT Business Partnering team and the wider IT organisation as required
Working with wider IT teams to provide context and understanding in relation to operational requirements within the business
Monitoring results of delivered IT projects and programmes and work with the Senior IT Business Partner & IT Business Partnering Manager to facilitate changes and improvements as needed
Undertaking the review of IT documentation, policies, and processes and ensuring IT policies and procedures are implemented effectively and consistently
Escalate IT operational issues / problems from UÉ users and liaise with wider IT team as appropriate to resolve
Working closely with the Finance Business Partners to ensure the management of OPEX/CAPEX allowances within the agreed Price Control parameters year on year
Managing business stakeholders, participating in relevant governance forums and meetings on behalf of IT and developing strong working relationships with IT customers
Providing overall support to the IT Business Partnering team
Ensure direct/forthright and honest communication in all dealings with peers both internal and external to Customer.
Support the BP strategy with both the internal IT team and the wider business community.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business to discuss IT services and on-going and future needs.
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
Relevant third level qualification is desirable
Ability to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
