RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client have an opportunity for an experienced cross-skilled Maintenance Technician to join a successful and growing business.
This is a day working position Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm. The successful Maintenance Technician will join a team of electrical and mechanical skilled technicians to ensure equipment operates to maximum efficiency and assist with installing new machinery.
Requirements:
* Qualified Trades / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar
* 3+ years experience in a similar position and able to troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical equipment. Must be able to read schematics, technical drawings and have good knowledge of PLC’s including programming.
* A highly motivated, enthusiastic team player who can take instruction, communicate strongly and work to a high level of attention to detail. Fluency in the English language is required.
* Can be flexible when required
* Hold a full driving licence
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Carry out electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve equipment issues minimising downtime. Includes PLC-controlled systems, handling and packaging equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic components and control systems
* Perform preventative and planned maintenance
* Collaborate with equipment suppliers for new installations, modifications, and upgrades
* Maintain workshop and tools in good condition and ensure spare parts are ordered on time
* Ensure effective use of resources and minimise waste
* Participate in cross-skilling training to expand technical expertise, mentor and coach apprentices and ensure the Manager is informed of critical issues
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
* Other duties as required
