The Community Employment Scheme is a project funded by the department that aims to help people gain work experience while taking courses of their choice (e.g., health care, admin) at no cost to the employee. The end goal is to ensure our employees have the work experience and qualifications to find full-time employment once their time on the scheme is up. Wages are determined by the department and will be in line with what you are currently receiving from social welfare, with a minimum wage of €259.50 per week for 19.5 hours of work. Employees will come off social welfare and are paid by Youthwork Ireland: North Connaught on a weekly basis; employees will not receive two payments.
Position: Kitchen Assistant required for a busy Childcare Centre in Sligo Town.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 19.5 hours per week (1pm-5pm & 1pm-4.30pm Friday). Working hours are subject to change.
Duties will include:
1. Washing and peeling vegetables
2. Preparing food
3. Assisting with serving food
4. Working as backup cook
5. Washing and cleaning dishes, utensils & cooking equipment
6. Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
Requirements: Garda Vetting & References will be required.
